The HSC examinations begin in Week 6 on Tuesday 9 November, and it is pleasing to see many Year 12 students have been continuing to come into the school for final preparations with their teachers. Graduation Ceremonies and Formals for Year 12 are able to be held but there are strict guidelines from the DoE which need to be adhered to for both events. Invitations will be sent to families and I am looking forward to celebrating with the students, the end of this chapter of their lives before taking on the challenges of the next. I was able to join our Year 12 Distance Education students in a Teams meeting last week to congratulate them on their achievements and wish them well for the future. Congratulations to Mrs Martin for the video; it rocked!
Year 7 - 9 students will undertake end of course examinations next week and Year 11 have begun the HSC course in each of their subjects and should be preparing for the first of their very important HSC assessments scheduled for this term.
A reminder that masks are compulsory for students and staff indoors and everyone must carry a mask with them when they are outdoors. The school has an adequate supply of masks, and we are providing these as required. Masks are also required on buses and public transport. Students have been very good at adhering to these requirements and are to be congratulated on being so cooperative.
Planning for 2022 is well under way with subject choices and patterns of study already determined for students and the timetable for the upcoming year almost finalised. The DoE has provided each school with targets they need to attain beginning this year and continuing over the next three years. We are currently reflecting on our School Improvement Plan (SIP) and evaluating which of our goals we were able to achieve this year, and then make adjustments to the SIP for 2022. This evaluation of our current situation and the data around enrolment, attendance, wellbeing and student growth and achievement will provide the guidance for our future planning to improve learning outcomes for our students.
There will be a P&C meeting in Week 6 at 3.45pm in the staff common room at the school. If we are unable to hold the meeting on site due to restrictions, we will advise parents of an alternate venue or an online meeting. I would encourage parents to attend and encourage parents of our incoming Year 7 2022 to come along to meet other members and find out about our great school and the opportunities that are provided for students.

Congratulations Lucas and AJ!!!

To welcome students back to Term 4 and to complete their film study unit, 8D English were given the task of creating a film on their mobile phones. The project involved developing a storyboard that included a number of different shot sizes and utilised a variety of camera angles. Plots were planned, characters were developed, along with dialogue and selection of music. The students pictured (Lucas Horrigan and AJ Ashton) completed the task to a high standard and were able to upload their final version to a you tube channel. The premiere of their film was met with great acclaim by their peers in 8D.  Congratulations must go to these boys as they dedicated many hours to editing after the filming to create an awesome end product!
