Thursday: Virtual Policy Forum on Medical Debt Relief

Attend a Virtual Policy Forum on Medical Debt Relief hosted by Treasurer Mike Pieciak this Thursday, March 6 at 11:30 AM.

The event is hosted in partnership with the Vermont Public Interest Research Group and Vermont Businesses for Social Responsibility.

Rhode Island Treasurer James Diossa will join Vermont legislative leaders, and local and national experts to discuss a proposal in Vermont to eliminate $100 million in medical debt using a one-time investment of $1 million—all with no new spending. The panel will also examine Treasurer Diossa’s medical debt relief program in Rhode Island, which has successfully wiped out medical debt for the state's most vulnerable residents at pennies on the dollar.

Vermont has some of the highest health care costs in the country, leaving many of us just one medical emergency away from crushing debt through no fault of our own.

Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and can RSVP here →
