National Disability Strategy
Beyond 2020

The Australian Human Rights Commission and the Centre of Research Excellence in Disability and Health invite you to a panel discussion on Stage 2 consultations for  Australia's next National Disability Strategy.

The National Disability Strategy (NDS) 2010-2020 is a critical policy for Australia’s future. The new Strategy provides an opportunity for all levels of government in Australia to create meaningful opportunities for people with disability, recognise and respect human rights and ensure all Australians’ needs are considered now and in the future. It is important that people with disability provide comment and input to ensure this occurs.

The second stage of
Consultations for the National Disability Strategy are now open, and the webinar on 24 September from 1pm to 3pm is timed to discuss the critical issues in the new Strategy and what needs to be reflected in the new Strategy.

  • Senator the Hon Anne Ruston – Minister for Families and Social Services
  • Robert Fitzgerald AM – NSW Ageing and Disability Commissioner
  • Professor Karen Fisher –  Social Policy Research Centre, UNSW
  • Dr Ben Gauntlett – Disability Discrimination Commissioner at the Australian Human Rights Commission (Panel Facilitator)
