Chinese New Year 2022 falls on Tuesday, 1 February 2022, and celebrations culminate with the Lantern Festival on 15 February 2022 with celebrations lasting up to 16 days.2022 is the year of the Tiger. The Tiger is known as the king of all beasts in China. The zodiac sign Tiger is a symbol of strength, exorcising evils, and braveness. After Day One, only three players remained; Kevin Morris, Graham Edwards (3 handicap) and reigning champion Dale Knight (6 handicap).
Kevin had his regular teammate Graham to contend with first up, whilst Dale had the bye.
The game came down to the wire after a phenomenal display of bowls by both players. Kevin took out the match 21-18.
Kevin then took on Dale and another great game of bowls ensued. After a number of tight measures, Kevin was able to get the upper hand and took out the match.

During Auckland Anniversary Weekend, St Heliers had its Progressive Pairs tournament. 20 members enjoyed the Bowls and plenty of hilarity - some skips were impersonating “Dick Turpin."

Last Saturday, Glen Eden ran its first event on their centennial celebration calendar with an Any Combination Triples tournament for past and present members.
The club looked a treat with the clubroom’s exterior newly painted in its updated colour scheme and the centenary flag and banner proudly displayed. 12 teams enjoyed themselves with a full day of four games on their newly refurbished green.
Winners: Gary Halton, Jaime Delaney, Matt Carroll and Glenn Taylor.
The prestigious annual Keys Tournament is the biggest open tournament on the St Heliers Bowling Club calendar. This tournament is named after former member Len Keys, who established the first bus services from St Heliers to the City. Len also represented New Zealand in the men's Singles at the 1934 British Empire Games.
The two-day tournament is open to any combination of Fours. This year, 26 teams entered from seven clubs. The weather conditions for both days were very warm with a strong northerly breeze.
The top eight teams qualified to play in the main event while the remaining teams played for the Plate.
