We hope everyone stayed safe during last week's storm and if you experienced damage it was minimal. The CEDRR January Mixer hosted by Chaffee Art Center has been rescheduled to June 11. We are looking forward to exploring the Chaffee Art Center this summer! Our next mixer is Tuesday, February 13 hosted by Rutland County Pride.
Survey: Business Owners Perception of VT's Fiscal Climate
In an effort to better understand VT business owners' perception of the state's fiscal climate, Davis & Hodgdon CPAs and the Vermont Chamber of Commerce are asking for your input in our brief annual economic survey of small- to medium-sized businesses related to the economy. The results of the survey will be compared to results from the previous surveys and published and shared with all

3-Acre Permit Obtainment Assistance Program Open
The Permit Obtainment Assistance (POA) program is a beneficiary program that provides financial assistance to eligible 3-acre sites seeking to obtain Three-Acre Permit coverage. Landowners/permittees associated with most 3-acre sites in the Lake Memphremagog, Lake Champlain, and stormwater-impaired basins are eligible. All applications must be submitted by October 31, 2024 at 4:00 p.m. Learn more and apply here →
PEG-TV Presents: Candidate Profiles
Rutland County residents and Vermont residents running for state and/or federal positions who would like an unfiltered platform to announce and articulate their position, can do so through PEGTV’s candidate profiles. PEGTV, Rutland County’s public access station, will air candidate profiles throughout the political season. Candidate profiles will stop airing on Friday, March 1st, 2024, 72 hours before the General Election on March 5th, in compliance with our political regulations. The VNA & Hospice of the Southwest Region provides training for those interested in becoming hospice volunteers. Training will be held on Friday, January 19 from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. in the Casella Conference Room at the Rutland office, located at 7 Albert Cree Drive. Training is free and open to individuals 16 years of age and older. Volunteers need to pass a background check. No previous hospice and healthcare experience is required. The Real Rutland Concierge Program welcomed 28 new families to Rutland County for a total of 63 new people in 2023. That is a 47% increase in the number of people who moved to Rutland County in 2022, using the Concierge program. Our December Break Camp was a great success. We had 20 youth enrolled in a week-long STEAM exploration. This was the first time we offered camp without grant funding, and we were able to provide financial support to local families thanks to our Send a Kid to Camp initiative. We are continuously grateful for the support of this community.
Speaking of February Break - The MINT Downtown is excited to partner with Come Alive Outside and Wonderfeet Kids' Museum to kick off Winterfest 2024 on Friday, February 16. Come to The MINT Downtown at 72 Merchants Row to armor up ahead of a teens-only Nerf Battle at Wonderfeet. More details to come! Tune into Facebook to stay in-the-know.
Thanks to support from MKF Properties and the opportunity to collaborate with local organizations, we will be staying in Downtown Rutland for the foreseeable future. 72 Merchants Row will be the home of our retail, education, and light manufacturing satellite makerspace. We are working to develop a schedule for programming to start in February!
