What's on in Central Otago - April

The annual Wedderburn Woolshed Photography Exhibition opened on the 15th of March and will run until April 30th this year, (9 am - 4 pm daily). Around 30 photographic works are on show at Lorraine and Stu Duncans' authentic New Zealand woolshed, perfectly situated just off the Otago Central Rail Trail. This exhibition is held in conjunction with our Arts on the Rail Trail and Arts on the Clutha Gold Trail projects. It has been a busy couple of months for the Arts Trust with Arts on the Rail Trail, Arts on the Clutha Gold Trail, the Youth Art Exhibition, and the Wedderburn Show.
We are entering the final phase of our Youth Project Charter with plans to develop a 'Heroes and Icons' section on the Arts Website. This section will identify a selection of artists who have an affiliation with Central Otago and will describe how these artists forged careers in their professions. We hope this will be a useful and inspiring reference. There is plenty to see and do in the region over the long weekend The Hayes Engineering Works Live Operating Day and
Artisan Markets are happening on Sunday, April 1st in Oturehua. Tours of the fully operational 20th-century engineering workshop are offered throughout the day. Visitors are welcome to come along and listen to some live music, browse the market stalls and relax in the beautiful grounds of the Works and Homestead. The Central Otago Art Society's Cash and Carry Easter Exhibition is on at the Masonic Lodge in Clyde. Around 130 artworks are on show and for sale
in this annual show. The exhibition coincides with the famous Food and Wine Festival on Sunday which makes Clyde a perfect destination to visit if you are in the area. The Cromwell Arts and Crafts Society are celebrating their 40th anniversary with an exhibition of works on show in the Conference Centre on Barry Avenue from Friday the 30th March - Monday the 2nd April, (10 am - 4 pm daily). Also happening in Cromwell this weekend is the opening of a joint exhibition of new ceramic and multimedia works by Lynne Wilson and Ro Bradshaw at Hullabaloo Art Space. The opening of this show is on at Hullabaloo on Sunday 1st of April from 2 pm - 4 pm.
Everyone is welcome to come along. Have a happy and enjoyable Easter break.
