Welcome to my July newsletter.
Since my last update, I’ve been meeting and talking with the small businesses in our community. They've told me about the high cost of wages, electricity and rent.
The NSW Budget revealed what these small businesses are already feeling– that the NSW economy is struggling. Economic growth is forecast to be about 1% and new data reveals that 14 businesses are closing a day in NSW.
This comes at a time when the future feels uncertain. AI is reshaping how we work, yet the Government has no plan to make that shift work for us. Data centres are appearing across the state without coordination or consultation with the communities that host them.
If the NSW economy is struggling and people lack confidence, then they pull back on spending in our local shops.
We have a plan to kickstart the economy by cutting business taxes like payroll tax and investing in Business Connect – an advice service that helps small businesses get off the ground.

That's why I’m teaming up with Service NSW cost of living experts to present a free seminar so our community can see what's on offer:

The NSW Liberals have made some commitments to take off some of the financial burden from things that really shouldn’t be so expensive.
We’ve committed to capping tolls at $50 per week and taking $100 off your car registration fees.
These are small actions that will make a big difference to people and families who are struggling with soaring living expenses.
Nominate Someone Who Deserves Recognition
One of the best parts of being the Member for Epping is celebrating the people who make our community stronger.
Recently, I had the privilege of recognising Merryn Gibbons from North Epping for her extraordinary dedication as a short-term foster carer.
For more than 13 years, Merryn and her family have opened their home to vulnerable babies, giving them care, stability and the best possible start in life. Her compassion and selflessness are a reminder of the quiet heroes who make an incredible difference every day.
There are so many people across our electorate whose achievements, service and kindness deserve to be recognised.

I've also recently recognised:
- Josh Yoo - Selected to represent NSW Combined High Schools at the NSW All Schools Volleyball Tri-Series and named in the Merit Team.
- Craig Denyer- Recognised for his lifelong service to the North Epping Rangers, Craig is as much an institution as Epping Rangers is!
- Carlingford Netball Club - Celebrating the ten girls selected for the Under 11 Development Squad.
- Epping Boys Prefects - Recognised the outgoing Prefect body for their commitment and leadership over the past year.

Your Voice Matters – Plympton Rd Toilets Petition
Parramatta Council has plans to install a toilet at the North Carlingford shops. The addition of a toilet to this part of the suburb has been a long time in making, however the proposed location is right outside Rossi's Fresh Grocer.
The Ray Park Heritage group is currently running a petition calling for a different but nearby location. Head into Rossi's Fresh Grocer to have your say.
I've already added my voice by speaking with Councilors and Council and asking them to consider a different but still close location.
A Win for Carlingford High School
A small but significant win, a safety fence has been installed outside Carlingford High Schools’ bus bay, benefiting students, staff and the public as they utilise bus services in our local area.
Parramatta Council Is Now Offering Half Price Venue Hire
It’s now easier and more affordable for community members and local groups to host events and gatherings at community centre facilities
From 1 July 2026, the City of Parramatta has introduced a 12-month trial offering 50% discounts and incentives on venue hires to make community spaces more accessible and affordable.
Whether it’s for a community group meeting, sports club presentation, birthday party or something else, I encourage you to make the most of Epping’s great facilities, especially whilst these offers are available. Click here to learn more.
Did You Know You Can Get a Free Fire Safety Check?
Fire + Rescue NSW offer free home Safety Visits to check your smoke alarms and provide personalised fire safety advice.
Anyone can benefit from a Safety visit, however there are people within our communities that are statistically at higher risks of incidents occurring, including:
- Over 65s
- People who live alone
- People with limited mobility, hearing impairments or vision impairments
- Residents who are supported by carers, family and friends
- Anyone with English as a second language

Beecroft Combined Probus Club is dedicated to fostering friendship, connection and active living for its members. The Club exists solely to serve the Probus community and is non-political

Beecroft Community Hall/Craft and Conversation
The Hornsby Hub and Ku-Ring-Gai Neighbourhood Centre sponsors Craft and Conversation every Wednesday during the school term from 9.30am until 12.30pm. This promotes connection amongst retirees and all who come along. The hall also has space for other activities.

Carlingford SOS (Switched On Seniors)
Carlingford SOS is a welcoming social group for retirees and seniors, offering a relaxed and friendly weekly morning tea with opportunities to connect, learn and be entertained. Morning tea is held every Tuesday from 9:30am to 11:00am in the Community Room on the 3rd Floor of Carlingford Court Shopping Centre.

Cheltenham Recreation Club

Epping Civic Trust
Epping Civic Trust is a long-standing volunteer organisation that has represented local residents for more than 50 years. The Trust works to improve life in Epping, with a strong focus on development, infrastructure and the local environment. Quarterly newsletters are shared with members and are also available on the Trust’s website at: www.eppingcivictrust.org.

Epping Scout Group
Epping Scout Group delivers youth programs and services that support personal development, leadership and community involvement for young people of all ages. Activities are tailored to different age groups, with meeting locations and times varying accordingly.

Epping Senior Citizen Club Inc (ESCC)
ESCC is a volunteer-run, not-for-profit organisation offering a wide range of activities designed to support seniors’ health, wellbeing and social connection. Through ten different community activities, the Club helps improve physical fitness and balance, while reducing the risk of falls, depression and loneliness. ESCC provides a pleasant and welcoming environment where older residents can make friends and enjoy staying active.

North Epping Men’s Shed (NEMS)
North Epping Men’s Shed is a welcoming community space where men and women of all ages come together to learn new skills, work on projects and enjoy good company. Our Shed offers well‑equipped woodworking and metalworking facilities, hands‑on training, interest groups, community projects and social activities that support wellbeing, purpose and connection.
New members are always welcome — whether you’re keen to make things, volunteer your time, learn something new or simply meet others in a friendly, supportive environment.

North Rocks Football Club
North Rocks Football Club offers community football for children, youth and adults across the electorate. Northwest Sydney Tennis
