New Vice President, Destination & Market Development at Tourism Whistler
After 17 years with Tourism Whistler, Karen Goodwin is retiring this spring in order to spend more time with her family. We would like to introduce you to Tory Kargl who has been promoted from within Tourism Whistler to Vice President, Destination & Market Development.
Tory has been with our organization for 13 years and most recently held the position of Director of Whistler.com & Visitor Services. Prior to Tourism Whistler, Tory fulfilled sales manager roles at Nita Lake Lodge in both conference sales and travel trade leisure sales; and before that worked in several sales positions at Whistler Blackcomb Mountains. Tory’s wealth of management, sales, packaging, marketing and operations experience with diverse business units – the mountains, hotel, tourism bureau, and reservations company, provides an excellent basis for leading the team and working with partners like yourselves.

Audain Art Museum Special Exhibitions
The Audain Art Museum hosts a number of exciting Special Exhibitions each year. Dedicated to presenting a wide range of artists and artistic practices, the Museum’s exhibitions include both historical and contemporary art.
The Collectors’ Cosmos: The Meakins-McClaran Print Collection, provides a glimpse into the making of what became one of the foremost private collections of European prints in Canada. Built over the course of four decades, the core of this collection comprises a wealth of sixteenth- and seventeenth-century Dutch and Flemish prints. The exhibit is on show until May 15, 2023.
Manabu Ikeda: Flowers from the Wreckage, showing June 24 - October 9, explores how artist Manabu Ikeda seeks inspiration from his surroundings to bring attention and awe to viewers, as a way of sending warnings about the painful reality of environmental disasters.
Svava Tergesen: Ornamental Cookery, a site-specific installation exploring the symbolic potential of everyday objects, combining handicraft techniques such as cooking and textile art with photography. On display in the Audain Art Museum's Upper Galleries until June 11. audainartmuseum.com
