How Data Centers Will Put Downward Pressure on ITC Midwest’s Network Transmission Rate
Data centers are expanding rapidly across the country, and ITC President and CEO Krista Tanner explained how that growth can help lower network transmission rates in an interview with Bloomberg. Krista addressed the misconception that data centers increase costs, which has not been the experience across ITC’s service territory. In fact, ITC Midwest’s network transmission rate is projected to decrease by approximately 20% by 2030.
In states served by ITC, regulators and utilities work together to ensure sufficient transmission and generation infrastructure is in place to meet growing electricity demand. Long-term planning allows utilities to stay ahead of future energy needs. Regulatory protections help ensure large energy users pay for the grid investments required to serve them, rather than shifting those costs to existing customers.

ITC Midwest Participates in Iowa Lineman Rodeo
ITC Midwest joined utilities from across Iowa at the second annual Iowa Lineman Rodeo on August 21. Held at the Iowa State Fair and hosted by the Iowa Utility Association and International Brotherhood of Electric Workers (IBEW) local unions, the competition highlighted the skills, dedication and commitment to safety required to deliver reliable electric service.
Casey Woodside Named ITC Midwest’s
Manager of Customer and Business Solutions
ITC Midwest recently promoted Casey Woodside to Manager of Customer and Business Solutions. Based in the Des Moines office, Casey will lead a team dedicated to delivering value to customers and partners across the company’s service territory. Casey joined ITC Midwest as an Account Manager in 2024 and was named Senior Account Manager in early 2026. With his customer-focused approach and strong utility industry experience, Casey has a proven track record of building partnerships, enabling growth and supporting business initiatives. Casey looks forward to connecting with you at the Fall Partners in Business Meeting on October 6 in Cedar Rapids!
