'What's On' in Central Otago December & January

It is officially summer-Hooray!
Our region truly springs to life over the summer season, the influx of holiday makers, gloriously long hot days and plenty of exciting events combine to create a festive atmosphere that is too easy to get used too!
On Saturday night I had the pleasure of attending the opening of the ‘Muster of Artists’ exhibition at Central Stories Museum and Art Gallery. A beautifully curated selection of works from a range of disciplines by significant artists in the Central Otago region. The exhibition will run until the end of January and is certainly worth a look.
The Alexandra, Old Cromwell, Maniototo and Clyde markets have started again and are gaining momentum every year. All markets have a vast array of artisan treats, local produce, and fabulous jewellery and crafts available to purchase.
Historic Clyde is rapidly expanding with an influx of galleries showcasing local artists, jewellers and photographers. This coupled with a collection of fantastic eateries, and the Clyde Cinema, make it a wonderful spot to spend the day.
This year we are spoilt for choice with music festivals and entertainment over the summer period. Such beautiful countryside means we can boast the best spots to host performances such as the Gibbston Valley Summer Concert, the River Range Music Festival in Cromwell and even UB40 at the Waitiri Creek Winery in January. Try to support these performances, go and see an exhibition and shop our businesses so we can keep getting more class acts.
Have a great Christmas and New Year!
