Beauty and the Beast, Whitianga 7-16 May 2026 Mercury Bay Performing Arts (MBPA) is proud to present Disney’s Beauty and the Beast JR at the unique Coro Club Main Hangar in Whitianga. Based on the Academy Award-winning animated feature and the smash-hit Broadway stage production, this "tale as old as time" is being brought to life by an incredible cast of local youth from across the Coromandel. Aotearoa Men's Wellbeing Summit, Opoutere 14-16 May 2026 The 2026 Aotearoa Men's Wellbeing Summit promises to be even more powerful than the inaugural gathering in 2025. It is a chance to meet and connect with inspiring men in the wellbeing space, many of who are holding space for other men going through tough times. Wherever you are on your wellbeing journey, this a chance to listen in to other men's stories of transformation and getting through life's struggles.

Tairua Market - Tairua Memorial Hall - the first Saturday of every month In addition to a good range of seasonal produce fresh from local growers, this market offers handmade preserves, baking and confectionery, and locally made small goods. The selection of handmade crafts make great gifts, from classic wooden toys, organic soaps, knitted garments and quilts, to plants, artworks and jewellery. Thames Market - Pollen Street, Thames Held every Saturday from 8am - 12pm in Grahamstown. You'll find locally produced plants, fruit and veg plus bric-a-brac, second hand goods and books, arts and crafts, fine food, cheeses, specialty oils and much more. Little Big Markets - Island View Reserve - Whangamatā A huge range of gourmet street food and food truck vendors, as well as a curated selection of stallholders for you to peruse... you won't be short of things to do.
