In what has been, again, another year of uncertainty, together we have achieved a tremendous amount with conservation and protection of the great outdoors, its wildlife, landscapes and habitats remaining our primary focus. We hope you enjoy reading our last newsletter of 2021 and this brief overview of what has been achieved. We have much more planned for next year and will start 2022 with enthusiasm for whatever the year might bring! Wishing you a fun and festive Christmas and a happy New Year! Tanya, Catherine, Cat and Sharon. ![]() Launch of new two-year focusThe launch of our new two-year focus, Wild for Nature: EOCA's Landscape Legacy Project, will ensure all EOCA funded projects tackle the threat of biodiversity loss and climate change as effectively as possible.Sustaining MembersA select group of EOCA members lead the way with their commitment to conservation. Sustaining Member funding finances the running of EOCA on behalf of the whole of the European outdoor sector, for which we are extremely grateful. The most EOCA has ever invested in a single year! A big thank you to all our members for making this incredible achievement possible. Funding application roundsEOCA has run two funding rounds this year which received over 500 applications for funding from conservation bodies around the world. Public votingTwo public project funding votes have been run which received 136,962 votes from outdoor enthusiasts and nature lovers around the world. Conservation FundraisersWe have managed two online fundraising events this year: Earth Day (April) and Green Friday (November) to raise further funds and awareness of EOCA's work. You can still support our fundraising, and get yourself some fantastic gear, by visiting the Outdoor Gear for Good eBay shop. Sharing EOCA's newsWe've had lots of great news to shout about this year through press releases, articles, newsletters and on our four social media platforms: Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram. From keeping people updated on our fundraisers and funded projects, to the latest updates from COP15 and COP26 and our partnership with Business for Nature to help influence ambitious outcomes for nature. Working together with our membersWe are extremely grateful to our members for the ongoing support they give to EOCA. This year there have been a number of fantastic opportunities to work alongside a few of our members on individual projects. These have included a takeover of Buff's Instagram account, helping to organise a Plogga clean-up event with the local McKINLEY office in Sweden and a number of online chats with members' teams to give an insight into EOCA's work.
