February 2023 Happy New Year. 2023 will be an exciting year for Coffs Harbour Libraries and our members with the move, mid-year, of Harry Bailey Memorial Library (HBML), into Yarrila Place. We will keep you updated in the coming months as we get closer to the move. There's been some exciting updates to the Children's spaces at Toormina or Woolgoolga libraries. If you have visited recently, you may have already seen them. The Summer Reading program was successful with lots of children and families getting involved and keeping up their reading over the school holidays. Term 1 sees our regular programs resume. Drop into your local library branch on Tuesday 14 February for Library Lovers' Day As we begin 2023, remember your libraries are so much more than quiet spaces filled with books. Visit one of the 3 branches at Toormina, Woolgoolga or HBML in Coffs Harbour. As well as being able to borrow books, there are lots of benefits to being a library member. You have access to:
You also have 24-hour access to online collections and resources:
Drop into your local library branch and bring a friend who isn’t a member and show them why you love your library. Browse the collection, jump onto one of the public PCs or use the free WIFI, and relax in air-conditioned comfort. Summer Reading Success! Our Summer Reading Challenge was a huge success and we’d like to thank all the families and children who got involved and rose to the challenge of reading 10 books over the summer – some children even read 20 or 30 books! New wall art for Toormina and Woolgoolga branchesThis January we saw new wall art installed in the Children’s spaces at Toormina and Woolgoolga library. Brightly coloured artwork of the bush (Toormina) and the sea (Woolgoolga) has brought a fresh new feel to these spaces. Bring the kids along to have a look. Escape the heat, let the kids explore, browse the collection, and relax. Library Lovers' DayHas your library enriched your life in big or small ways? Is there something that your library does that no other public service, or space, can do? Is your world a better place because of your library? If the answer to any of these questions is yes, then we encourage you to use this Library Lovers’ Day as an opportunity to tell someone: tell your library, tell your networks and tell us! We asked our staff to recommend anything from the collection that they have been loving lately. - See our Staff faves What's OnThis course runs for 6 weeks at each library branch.
