CEO & Chief Designer, Timothy Jacob Jensen celebrated his 50th birthday with an open house reception at House of Jacob Jensen in Hejlskov, Denmark on the 27th of April 2012.
 

In other news, JACOB JENSEN™ launches a fresh take on the New series watch collection. This re-release collection features some subtle yet significant changes to its design. The collection was honoured with the internationally acclaimed German Red Dot 2012 product design award.

Royal Visit to Jacob Jensen Design | DeTao Shanghai

His Royal Highness The Prince Consort of Denmark visited Shanghai in early March, he was one of the first to officially witness the new and innovative collaboration between Denmark’s most award-winning design studio, Jacob Jensen Design, and one of China’s most ambitious educational initiatives, the DeTao Masters Academy at the Shanghai Institute of Visual Art (SIVA). The resulting new studio Jacob Jensen Design | DeTao Shanghai will open on the 3rd of August 2012.

The Prince Consort and Chief Designer and Professor Timothy Jacob Jensen enjoyed lunch at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in the company of the President of the DeTao Group George Lee, Director of SIVA Professor Chen Limin, Deputy Executive Director of SIVA Professor Shao Minhua, Vice President of the DeTao Group Xu Lin’en and the Shanghai Danish Consul General Susanne Hyldelund.

Lecture series by Timothy Jacob Jensen in China

On his most recent trip to China, Timothy gave two lectures to eager design students at the Shanghai Institute of Visual Arts and the Peking University in Beijing as part of the 2012 DeTao Lecture Series.

The lecture was split into two parts, the first covered the Jacob Jensen Design philosophy in a global perspective which was followed by a inspirational visual journey from the Big Bang to Buddhism. Students as well as press attended the lectures.

Award winning Tangent Fjord Dock design by Jacob Jensen

The Tangent Fjord Dock receives The Good Design Award, Chicago, U.S.A and Wallpaper* Design Award 2012 for Best Control Panel.

The docking system has been added to the permanent collection at the Danish Design Museum in Copenhagen, Denmark.

The Tangent Fjord now expands its range with an iPhone dock only version which was launched on the market earlier this year.

Updated in 2012, the JACOB JENSEN™ Electronic Parking Disc automatically registers and displays when your car is parked. With an all new adhesive pad design. Now available in three colour schemes in Denmark.

Release of JACOB JENSEN™ Ladies Chronograph

The JACOB JENSEN™ 600 Chronographs were introduced in 2005, the following year this watch collection received the internationally recognized quality seal “Red Dot Award”. The studios 13th Red Dot award since its inception in 1955.

In 2009, the series was further refined. The most marked difference is the change from titanium to a polished surface of chrome as well as circular brushed face of the watch. Like its predecessor, the watch case is made of solid stainless steel. The glass is sapphire crystal and consequently very scratch resistant. The watch strap is genuine leather and behind the new face you will still find the Swiss ETA quality movement.

The JACOB JENSEN™ Ladies Chronograph were launched last month at Baselworld 2012 watch fair in Switzerland.

Diamant coffin series arrives in The Netherlands

On the 20th of April 2012 the Diamant Series were introduced to the Dutch market with at an event at the ACEC museum in Apeldoorn, Holland.

CEO & Chief Designer, Timothy Jacob Jensen addressed over 100 funeral directors who gathered for the evening to witness the unveiling of the Diamant coffin Series. The coffins form part of a Jacob Jensen Design exhibition currently held at the museum until the 12th of May 2012.

CEO and Chief Designer, Timothy Jacob Jensen gives keynote at the German Superyacht Conference 2012.

With the premiere of the “German Superyacht Conference” on the 23rd of February 2012, the magazine BOOTE EXCLUSIV from the Delius Klasing publishing house presented a large forum of the international luxury yacht scene on German soil. In the Hotel Le Royal Méridien in Hamburg, six experts gave lectures on design, new yacht concepts, piracy, market developments and modern marketing.

Timothy Jacob Jensen opened the conference with a Keynote on the “Design Process” founded at Jacob Jensen Design. He also demonstrated how he approaches the design of all kinds of products, and how his company formed a luxury yacht project.

The event saw over 100 guests from within the luxury yacht industry. The majority of guests came from German speaking regions. But also conference participants from England, France, Austria and the Netherlands travelled to the first “German Superyacht Conference” in order to attend talks, exchange ideas with industry colleagues, and to establish new contacts.

A fresh take on the JACOB JENSEN™ New Series collection

For this re-release of the JACOB JENSEN™ New Series the design streamlining has been revisited resulting in a markedly smoother aesthetic.

The updated models feature some subtle yet significant changes to its design. The inner face of the watch now has a vertical dropped groove, which extenuates its three dimensional quality. It amplifies the illusion of the strap flowing seamlessly around the watch face.

The complete re-release series have gained international acclaim with the German Red Dot 2012 product design award.

CEO & Chief Designer, Timothy Jacob Jensen turns 50

Timothy Jacob Jensen at 50 took time out to celebrate his birthday with an open house at House of Jacob Jensen in Hejlskov, Denmark on the 27th of April 2012. When asked how did it go?, he replied, “The number of familiar faces that made it to my impromptu birthday party makes me feel that I am truly not alone on this life’s journey. I must convey my warmest thank you to all those that celebrated with me”.

As a special gift from the company, Timothy Jacob Jensen was presented with a Scottish estate located 170km north west of Glasgow in the Glencoe woods on a hill overlooking Loch Linnhe. According to Scottish law, as a land owner in Scotland, Timothy is officially entitled to attach the title “Lord” to his name.
