We would like to thank everyone who has contributed to the CHAP project since it commenced in October 2019 and look forward to working with you over the next five months as we wrap up this project. The team are busy writing 13 manuscripts to be submitted before June 2023 to compliment 20 that have been published to date. Congratulations Dr Alejandra Pinero de Plaza for winning the 2022 Vice President and Executive Dean (VPED) Award for the second consecutive year. This award was for her fearless embodiment of the University research values as an Early Career Researcher. We are very proud of you Ale!

Aussie, Aussie, Aussie Oi Oi Oi

Congratulations to Dr Alline Beleigoli and her family who became Australian citizens on Australia Day this year after coming here from Brazil in 2018.  What Alline likes most about Australia is the multiculturalism and what she likes least is vegemite!

Farewell Linda Marshall

The CHAP team would like to thank Linda Marshall, CR Clinician at Flinders Upper North LHN in Whyalla who has been actively involved in the CHAP project seeing the progress being made in CR. She will be replaced by Lynette Stephens who we look forward to working with.

We are at the exciting stage of looking at the impact of CATCH web - our online CR portal on client's experience and your service's experience as you manage this program. We thank you for your support in this collaborative journey to enable clients to choose web-based CR and welcome your feedback here.

Modules in CATCH web

CATCH web (online CR) can further support your patients enrolled in CATCH telephone or face-to-face programs by providing further education on the CR Quality Indicators including: 
'Managing risk factors… taking the pressure down' - get your patients to understand what blood pressure is, how hypertension is diagnosed, how it affects their heart health and what factors can contribute to it in this video in Module 7.
'Psychosocial wellbeing… minding your mind' - hearing from a person who has experienced the same conditions, operations and recovery processes as your patients have been through in the video in Module 8 can make a positive difference to them.
'Daily living… getting on with it' - one of the most common questions for people after a having an acute cardiac episode is whether, when and how they can resume daily lives activities. In Module 9 there is a short video by a psychologist who has counselled many patients during their road to recovery.
