Congratulations to Dr. Marissa Bond who just received a copy of her recently published book. 'Teaching Skills with Virtual Humans' is based on Marissa's PhD research, where she developed software that used virtual people to help children with autism understand and practice social communication skills. 2021 Alumni Award Nominations now Open

The three nomination categories include the Early Career Alumni Award (for up to five years after graduating), Distinguished Alumni Award, and the Convocation Medal. Since the release of CourseLoop in February, the Curriculum Management Program (CMP) team have been working towards the implementation of Handbook, the publication module which interfaces directly with curriculum data stored in CourseLoop. Read More
Shut Up and Study - August kick off
The concept is simple. We all get together to get work done. Except, we aren’t interacting per se, we are just studying/working in the presence of each other. With the increased reliance on online study and more of our student body located away from the main campuses, I wanted to create study sessions that any student (and staff members for that matter) can join in on, feel like they are part of something bigger. Dealing with Disappointment
Disappointments are inevitable, and how we cope with them is often a defining moment in our lives. We can learn to respond healthily to a disappointment by adopting a coping style that seeks to understand, checks expectations, revaluates perception, and seeks positive solutions. Although disappointment is inevitable, being discouraged is a choice.
Interaction Ritual: Essays on Face-To-Face Behavior by Erving Goffman. Originally published in 1967, Routledge created a new edition of this book in 2017. This book has survived well through time. The concept of "face-work" remains strong, exploring how interactions are opportunities to improve social standing. "I was impressed by the attention to "internal consistency." Also of incredible value is the discussion of the "vocabulary of embarrassment." The configuration of embarrassment as "unfulfilled
