Click here Gipps Street Elevated PathCommunity Update | September 2025 Welcome to the latest community update for the Gipps Street Elevated Path Project, a significant initiative aimed at enhancing accessibility and connectivity along the Main Yarra Trail. The final section of the ramp installed on site during September. Project statusParks Victoria is on track to complete this project by December 2025. Works recently completedIn September we installed the final section of ramp. We completed the drains and rock walls and commenced construction of a retaining wall. We continued planting works to stabilise and revegetate the embankment.
Construction of the retaining wall Next stepsFinishing works are underway including caulking panel joins on the elevated platform, tensioning wire mesh on the balustrade and installing handrails. In October we will complete the construction of the retaining wall and commence streetscape works. AccessFor safety reasons, there is no pedestrian access via the stairs to Gipps Street. To complete the works, we need to restrict access at Gipps Street and across Collins Bridge for up to 7 days. We are finalising these dates, and we will inform you of the exact details with as much notice as possible.
