Science and Engineering PhD student Dee Trewartha was recently awarded the prize for the Best Student Conservation Talk at the recent World Congress for Herpetology (WCH) in Kuching, Malaysia.

Undertaking health and medical research?

There’s a new joint Statement on Sex, Gender, Variations of Sex Characteristics and Sexual Orientation in Health and Medical Research. This has been developed by the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) and the Department of Health and Aged Care to help make health and medical research more inclusive by improving knowledge of research gaps related to historical underrepresentation of sex, gender, variations of sex characteristics and sexual orientation.

Safety and Respect at Sturt

On Tuesday, 27 August 2024 hundreds of students visited the “Safety and Respect at Sturt” event hosted by the College of Nursing and Health Sciences at Sturt Campus.
All HDR students are encouraged to complete the
Consent and Respectful Relationships as well as the MATE Active Bystander Awareness online training modules. Both are available on FLO (Canvas) using the links above.

HDR Supervision: Giving Effective Feedback

Wednesday 25 September 2.00-4.00pm

Many graduate students cite getting and dealing with feedback from their supervisors as one of the most frustrating areas of candidature. Feedback is essential to help the student make progress and improve the quality of their outputs. So, what can you, as a supervisor, do to ensure they get the feedback they need? This workshop is aimed at HDR Supervisors and will be facilitated by Hugh Kearns from Thinkwell.
