Celebrating its 50th Anniversary this cinematic masterpiece can be taken either as a fabulously enjoyable, romp-filled musical snapshot of decadent pre-Reich Germany – or as a stark warning of the dangers of demagogues manipulating society for their own aims. THE KITCHEN BRIGADE RED CARPET PARTY AND FILM 6th May, Friday | From 6.30pm The fun starts before the film with food from around the world – and drinks from around Tasmania, plus a band to take you to France and in the mood for this funny and thought-provoking film. Cathy (Audrey Lamy) is a sous chef determined to open her own high-end French restaurant. But nothing goes as planned. So, she ends up teaching refugees cooking skills that change their lives - and hers. Have your taste buds delighted and your faith in human nature restored as the story unfolds! JOSEF CHROMY MATCHED DINNER AND WINES Wednesday, 4 May, 6.30pm This stunningly beautiful 60 ha vineyard site produces both exquisite table and sparkling wines. They go reef diving, they meet elders who tell him how their ancestors developed culture and art over thousands of years and they show Albert how both now face threats from rising sea levels and pollution; threats that Albert can help explain to other world leaders.
