The end of term is full of excitement for many of you and it can also be a time of anticipation as you wait for assessment results on 28th June. If any of your marks are delayed as a result of the Marking and Assessment Boycott, we will let you know in the results release email, so do read it carefully. We understand this may be concerning and so, if you are affected, the email will also include information on how to get further advice and support, should you need it. Please continue to check your emails for communications from the Faculty and the University (FAQs and previous emails can be found on the website) about the approach being taken in response to this ongoing period of national industrial action. The summer recess is an important time for reflection and preparation for the academic year ahead. Many of you will be undertaking internships, work placements and paid employment. For others, this may be a time to prepare for the referral and deferral assessment period. It can be easy to forget the importance of self-care so I encourage you all to take a well-deserved break and focus on your wellbeing. Spend time with family and friends, do things that bring you joy, and forget about your studies for a while. A good mental break from academia will help you to feel refreshed and ready to tackle the next academic year. Over the summer, the academic and professional services teams are still available to support you. However, this is also the time in the year where colleagues take annual leave and participate in research intensive activities. So, please bear in mind that there may be a delay to their response if you are reaching out for support. The Law School's personal and senior tutoring system remains in place over the summer and the University's Wellbeing Service is available as usual. Wishing you all a beautiful and fun summer recess. I look forward to welcoming you back to the Law School in September. Clair Professor Clair Gammage, Head of Law School Education Matters Director of Education and Student Experience Craig Newbery-Jones:As you eagerly await the results of your assessments, I wanted to take a moment to extend my heartfelt congratulations to you. The anticipation is palpable, and I am certain that your hard work, dedication, and commitment will be rewarded with remarkable achievements. Throughout this academic year, you have demonstrated unwavering resilience, determination, and a genuine thirst for knowledge. You have poured countless hours into studying, engaging in discussions, and honing your skills, all in pursuit of personal and academic growth. Your tireless efforts have set you apart, and I commend you for your unwavering commitment to excellence. I want to remind you that your worth and potential extend far beyond the outcome of these assessments. While they hold significance, they are just a snapshot of your progress on this educational journey. Remember that success is not defined solely by grades but also by the lessons learned, the friendships formed, and the personal growth achieved along the way. Approach the upcoming results with an open mind and a positive mindset, regardless of the outcome. Every experience, be it success or setback, is an opportunity for growth and self-reflection. Embrace both the moments of celebration and the challenges with equal grace, for they will shape you into a resilient and adaptable individual. No matter what the results may be, remember that you have already accomplished so much. The skills you have acquired, the knowledge you have gained, and the personal growth you have experienced are invaluable assets that will continue to propel you forward on your academic journey. I encourage you to celebrate your achievements, no matter how big or small. Acknowledge the dedication and hard work you have invested and take pride in your progress. Remember that we are always here to support you. If you need to speak to someone over the next few weeks, support will be available from the Amory Hub, the Wellbeing service and your academic personal tutors. Also, be sure to read all accompanying letters provided with your results carefully. As you look towards the future, hold onto your passion for learning and embrace the opportunities that lie ahead. Remember that education is a lifelong journey, and each step you take brings you closer to your dreams and aspirations. Be curious, be courageous, and never stop pursuing your intellectual and personal growth. I have every confidence that you will achieve great things, as your potential knows no bounds. With your drive, intelligence, and unwavering commitment, I have no doubt that you will continue to achieve remarkable success.
