With inflation pushing grocery bills higher and higher, it’s easy to think that food insecurity is a result of prices. But for many people who struggle with food security, prices are only part of the issue.
Today in The Conversation Canada, Farzaneh Barak of McGill University and Monika Korzun of Dalhousie University discuss how economic barriers are not the only obstacle, explaining that “systemic barriers like colonialism, racism and other systems of injustice are among the root causes of food insecurity in Canada.”
