This is the third time we have organised the Authors Award, which is aimed at appreciating our authors' work in our collaborative effort to improve the quality of public debate. We also organised a public discussion during the ceremony, inviting scientists from different generations to talk about the importance of building scientific temper in Indonesian society. We had Jatna Supriatna, a conservation biologist from Universitas Indonesia, who is also our Board Chair; Sastia Prama Putri of Osaka University, who is also the president of the International Indonesian Scholars Association (I4); and Wawan Kurniawan, a researcher at Psychology and Politics Lab at Universitas Indonesia as the speakers. For the awarding session, we keep the names of categories similar to last year: the most productive author, the most read author, the readers' choice, the editor's choice and also the most productive institutions. The winners this year are Kanti Pertiwi of Universitas Indonesia as the most-read author; Wawan Kurniawan of Universitas Indonesia and Yogie Pranowo of Universitas Multimedia Nusantara who shared the awards as the most productive author; Rizky Utami of Universitas Hasanuddin winning the readers' choice category; Andi Misbahul Pratiwi of Universitas Indonesia, Ayu Anastasya Rachman of Universitas Bina Mandiri Gorontalo, Murni Sianturi, Arif Nur Muhammad of Universitas Airlangga and Rayenda Khresna Brahmana of Coventry University for editors' choice category and Universitas Indonesia as the most-productive institution. Congratulations to all this year's winners! The Conversation Indonesia will live fact-check statements from candidates with our expert panels on Jan. 21. We will share the fact-check analysis on our social media during the debate. To join the panel, please scroll down below to get more information. Warmest, Ika Krismantari
To anticipate the proliferation of misinformation and disinformation during the campaign, The Conversation Indonesia (TCID) has set up a fact-checking expert panel of our authors. Recently, the initiative has received support from The Alliance of Independent Journalists (AJI) with a grant from the Open Society Foundation to collaborate with two other reputable media - Tempo and Kompas - to amplify the project's impact. If you are an academic or researcher, you can join the panel by registering via this link.
