Welcome to this special “community edition” of the 1898 Alumnae Newsletter for alumnae, parents, Senior School students and staff.
The 5th Annual CHS Career Conference featured 24 alumnae in various stages of their careers. They presented on the theme of “Agility: Being Comfortable with the Uncomfortable” to Grade 11 and 12 students who are starting to plan for their post-secondary journeys. We hope you’ll enjoy learning more about the event and the alumnae who shared their time with us.

Career Conference Presenter Bios

During the 5th Annual Career Conference, 208 Grade 11 and 12 girls had the chance to spend the afternoon with a full slate of 24 alumnae who generously shared their thoughts and expertise with students as they considered their next steps and career paths. We thank all those who volunteered for their time and passion! Get to know the presenters!

It has been an active time for alumnae in our community! Over the summer and fall, the CHS Alumnae Association measured and stirred, laughed and poured, stickered and wrapped strawberry, blueberry spice and vanilla peach jam for sale at the first in-person Winter bazaar in three years. Net proceeds from the event will be donated to KidSafe, a local Vancouver charity that provides nutrition and essential services and programs to vulnerable children and youth annually. Information about the donation and a photo gallery will be shared with alumnae in January.

Alumnae also participated in a fundraiser for Aunt Leah’s Place, an organization that helps prevent children in foster care from becoming homeless and mothers in need from losing custody of their children. CHS alumnae and students (future alumnae) worked up a sweat doing pilates for Aunt Leah’s. They raised over $400.
Thank you to all of the alumnae who contributed to these community events.
