Special Olympics Team BC 2024 members showed hard work, dedication, and team spirit – and it has been so inspiring to see all they have accomplished over the last five days at the Special Olympics Canada Winter Games Calgary 2024! 💪🔥

On Saturday, SO Team BC brought in another 33 medals, bringing our final medal count to a stunning total of 135! 🤩 We are so incredibly proud of them for representing their province with pride. Know that all of B.C. has been cheering you on, and is so proud of your achievements! Go #SOTeamBC2024! 💙💛

Day 5 Highlights

SOBC Campbell River Rocks curling team group photo on curling ice

SO Team BC 2024 ended their National Games with a bang! The Burnaby Wildcats curling team took home SO Team BC's last medal, winning gold in a thrilling victory on Saturday!

Athletes then celebrated their podium finishes, personal bests, and inspiring achievements at the awards ceremony that took place at Calgary City Hall. It was such an inspiring moment for all provinces to come together and celebrate the power of sport and inclusion.

To cap off the National Games, SO Team BC 2024 celebrated all their successes and lifelong memories at the Closing Ceremony, dancing the night away! 🤠💃

Behind each hardworking Special Olympics athlete are dedicated volunteers providing expert guidance and heartfelt encouragement.

Without the committed and talented coaches, mission staff, and other volunteers who give their time and energy to athletes, SO Team BC would not be where it is today. We are so grateful to each and every one of you. ❤️

From February 27 to March 2, Special Olympics BC’s largest-ever provincial winter team will pursue personal bests at the Special Olympics Canada Winter Games Calgary 2024.
