From the Mayor

Many in our community are celebrating Easter and Passover this week. On behalf of Council, I wish you all an enjoyable and peaceful time with family and friends.

Next Friday, we will also come together as a community to commemorate Anzac Day. Ku-ring-gai has a long history of serving in conflicts and peacekeeping operations. In World War 1 alone, around 1,300 men and women with links to Ku-ring-gai enlisted.

I’ll be attending a number of services, starting with the Dawn Service at Roseville Memorial Park. Event details are on our website.

This week, Council has rolled out a new online payment system to make paying rates easier than ever. Payble is a new online payment system that allows you to pay in weekly, fortnightly or monthly instalments, or make a simple one-off payment. You can also opt to receive SMS reminders. You can find out more and watch a short video here.

A reminder that applications are now open for the Community Grants and Environmental Levy Grants. We are offering over $97,000 in grants to local community groups and organisations to help get projects off the ground or fund essential equipment. Council is also offering $100,000 in grants for projects that preserve bushland, protect flora and fauna, inspire environmental action and help reduce carbon emissions.

Council is proud to support your efforts through our annual grants programs, so apply online today.

Have a safe and happy holiday.

Mayor Christine Kay
