![]() Christchurch Wastewater Treatment Plant updateMonday 25 August Clarifier trial underwayThe Christchurch Wastewater Treatment Plant is operating well and has adjusted to the winter conditions. Our teams have been busy working in the background on a number of projects and have now started trialing the installation of walls that will make it possible to isolate the clarifiers. If the trial proves successful, full cutoff walls will be installed starting in late September. Hydrogen sulphide monitors being testedWe’ve collected all odour monitors from the community and around the plant and sent them off for routine calibration. With the ponds in stable winter mode and odour levels at their seasonal low, this is the most sensible time of year to complete the work. Although this means we won’t have hydrogen sulphide data for the next few weeks, we expect to have the odour monitors back up and running in about three weeks. Updating the community board on the Activated Sludge PlantOn Thursday 28 August, the Waitai Coastal-Burwood-Linwood Community Board will receive an update from staff on the Activated Sludge Plant (ASP) Project. The update will include information about the latest progress and what's happening next. *Please note there are multiple items on the agenda and we are unable to provide exact timing.
