What's On April 2014

I love autumn and everything that comes with this beautiful season - crispy new apples, delicious grapes, golden trees and light frosty mornings that
turn into big blue-sky days. The Clyde Wine and Food Festival is always a splendid day out to sample the local vintages. More especially, it is a day of much merriment, so do consider coming to this happy harvest celebration. It's now ‘all go’ for Easter, with lots of exhibitions to see - and this year, men (and machine-loving women) are very well catered for with Warbirds Over Wanaka and Highlands Motorsport Park holding their inaugural Need for Speed weekend.
Calendar Girls, presented by the Clyde Theatre Group opened in Clyde last Friday night. This is a group which does comedy very well and this production is no exception. I went along on Saturday night and am happy to report it was lots of fun. The show has so many feel-good factors to attract us – it draws the audience in with its laughter and camaraderie. And, being a little risqué, where actors bare almost all, is an added attraction.
I was told to take my tissues and although I didn't need them, there were a couple of very poignant moments. But these were offset by many more good belly laughs. Well done to the cast and crew!
Have a good look at all the fresh events on this month around Central and make sure to get out and enjoy yourselves!
