The theme across this month’s newsletter is the rich variety of College events – from the VISTA Fiesta, to welcome events for students and HDR candidates, to a graduation ceremony at the Port Adelaide Football Club, to a combined event for research staff from BGL and Science and Engineering on the opportunities arising from Flinders Factory of the Future. A highlight for me was the VISTA Fiesta, which provided an opportunity to learn about the brilliant teaching and learning initiatives that are now occurring across CBGL. As we settle into another teaching year, these initiatives are critical in delivering a fantastic learning experience for our students. At the Australian Awards for University Teaching, Luis Da Vinha was one of only five recipients in South Australia of the Citation for Outstanding Contributions to Student Learning for his application entitled “Fostering Active Learning using Interactive Video Resources”. Highlights: The PAFC graduation for the Diploma of Sports Management not only provided ample content for TikTok and Instagram but also garnered attention from news outlets, including a news article and TV coverage. Strong efforts were made to boost enrolment for the Adelaide United and Flinders University's Diploma in Sport Business. Additionally, we proudly announced the appointment of a new Director for the Flinders Legal Centre and welcomed a new cohort of students.

Fullbright Gala Presentation Dinner | Jeff Bleich Centre Members of JBC and the BGL team were privileged to attend the Fulbright Gala Presentation Dinner on February 28th at Parliament House, Canberra, marking the pinnacle of the Fulbright Program. VISTA Fiesta event Last month we hosted our inaugural VISTA Fiesta. This event was dedicated to showcasing our ongoing initiatives and presenting our plans for 2024. BGL Welcome Lunch | Semester 1 The welcome event for new students at Bedford Park Campus was a lively gathering filled with refreshments and engaging activities. Held at the LWCM Courtyard on 21st Feb for lunch, it provided an excellent opportunity for both new and existing students to connect and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere.
