Cory Oegema, PA-C

Start Date: February 15th, 2024
"I was born and raised in Knoxville, TN where I ran Track and Field in High school. I studied Kinesiology and attended Graduate school in Nashville, TN where I focused on Orthopedics as with my athletic background the musculoskeletal system has always been a passion of mine. Upon graduating I relocated to Milwaukee, WI with my significant other. We have two dogs Dixie and Raina who enjoy playing in the snow and diving into local lakes whenever possible. I enjoy live music, working out, playing guitar, and hiking in my free time, and I have learned to love the WI winters."

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Efforts

Advancing Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

Dr. Yuka Kobayashi created the DEI Committee in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. The mission of the MCW Orthopaedic Surgery DEI Committee, made up of faculty, staff, and administrators, is to ensure that individuals are given equitable opportunity to contribute to the wellbeing of our community members and ensure fair and respectful treatment of all. The DEI committee works to empower diverse individuals from all backgrounds regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, social class, physical ability, age, and religious or political beliefs.
*Pipeline to Orthopaedic Surgery: DEI Committee Members meet monthly with 8th graders at Martin Luther King Jr. Middle School. At each session we introduce a new aspect of Orthopaedic Surgery and students have the opportunity to engage with health professionals, ask questions, and be encouraged to join the field.
*Partnerships and Talks: MCW Step Up Program, White Coats for Black Lives, Cultural Complications, Grand Rounds, Professionalism Week, MCW Visiting Student Health Equity Program.
