As millions in the UK settle in for another lockdown, researchers have examined suggestions the last period of such tight restrictions was botched because of a leak to the press. News of the impending lockdown circulated five days before it was implemented, giving people plenty of time to party before losing their liberty. The researchers found that there was a clear surge in infections from a few days before to several days after the
lockdown was implemented.
Yesterday saw chaos in Washington DC as a mob of angry protestors loyal to the outgoing president stormed Capitol HIll. The rioters managed to occupy the building, bringing proceedings to a halt.
