43rd Annual Whistler Children’s Festival | May 15–17
The Whistler Children’s Festival returns May 15–17, 2026, marking its 43rd year as the resort’s longest-running festival and a cornerstone of its arts and culture calendar.
New for 2026, the program features a Friday night pajama movie kickoff and youth-led “Bratz Biz” market stalls, alongside an expanded lineup of free activations—from street parties and roving performers to hands-on creative workshops—making the festival more accessible than ever.
With a strong focus on inclusion, this year’s event introduces Helping Hands tickets to support local families, highlights diverse programming such as the Powwow Mash-Up and Glamerly, and offers dedicated spaces for neurodivergent children.
Programming includes science shows, comedy, and interactive theatre with performers including Orbax n Pepper, Penny PomPom, and TaDaa, plus workshops ranging from juggling to magic. Free highlights include the Friday Street Party, Kids Karaoke, and the DJ Ira Dance Party.

Whistler Mountain Bike Park | May 15 – October 12
Opening May 15, the Whistler Mountain Bike Park returns for the season, reaffirming its status as a global benchmark for gravity-fed downhill riding.
With more than 80 trails spanning 1,500 vertical metres, the park delivers a full spectrum of terrain—from beginner-friendly flow in the Fitzsimmons Zone to progressively technical riding in the Garbanzo and Peak Zones as they open through the season.
Drawing everyone from first-time riders to elite athletes, the park continues to shape mountain biking culture worldwide - making it a cornerstone of Whistler’s summer story.
On the Slopes: Key Dates for Whistler Blackcomb
Spring skiing continues on Blackcomb Mountain through May 18, extending the season beyond the April 19 closure of Whistler Mountain.
Summer sightseeing will begin May 16 to June 7, with weekend operations for the PEAK 2 PEAK Gondola. June 13 will see all gondolas open for daily sightseeing through to September.

Golf Season Ready to Tee Off
Whistler’s golf season begins in early May, with three of four championship courses, Big Sky Golf Club, Fairmont Chateau Whistler Golf Club and Nicklaus North Golf Course reopening across the valley as conditions allow. Set against the Coast Mountains, the golf season typically runs May through mid-October, offering a mix of alpine terrain, elevation changes and lakeside play.
Each course offers a distinct layout— from the wide fairways of Big Sky Golf Club, designed by Robert Cupp in nearby Pemberton to the mountain-side routing at Fairmont Chateau Whistler, designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr and the lakeside setting at Nicklaus North, designed by Jack Nicklaus.
Opening timelines include Big Sky Golf Club beginning May 1, Fairmont Chateau Whistler Golf Club on May 8 (weather dependent), and Nicklaus North Golf Course in early May (date to be confirmed).
Whistler Golf Club Closed for Renovations
Regular golf operations are not available at the Whistler Golf Club until spring 2027, as a $10 million transformative renovation of the course and restaurant continues. This comprehensive renovation includes substantial course enhancements, a full renovation of Palmer's Restaurant, updates to the clubhouse patio, and more.
During construction, the Whistler Driving Range, the Whistler Golf Club Retail Shop, and The SIM indoor golf simulator located within the clubhouse, all continue to operate as per their usual seasonal schedules.

Reuse Whistler Launches Circular Cup Program
A new reusable cup program has launched across Whistler Village as part of Reuse Whistler’s ongoing waste reduction efforts. Participating cafés—including Naked Sprout Café and Eatery, Alpha Café, Blenz Coffee and Mt. Currie Coffee Company—are now offering takeaway drinks in reusable cups through a borrow-and-return system. Cups can be returned within five days at Smart Return Bins located throughout the Village, with additional cafés and return points expected to join as the program expands. More information here.

A Whistler Village icon has been reborn with the opening of Trattoria Di Como.
Bringing a contemporary approach to Italian dining, while embracing the warm, convivial spirit long associated with the space, Trattoria Di Como’s menu centres on classic dishes from Northern and Central Italy, prepared with organic, ethically sourced ingredients and paired with an extensive yet approachable wine list.
Designed to evoke the feeling of a welcoming home, Trattoria Di Como unfolds across a series of distinct spaces—from a cozy loggia and an open-kitchen dining room to a garden patio framed by the surrounding mountains. Rimrock Café Marks 40 Years
Rimrock Café, one of Whistler’s longest-running restaurants, celebrates its 40th anniversary in 2026.
Since opening in Creekside in 1986, the restaurant has built a reputation for seafood-focused cuisine and consistent, high-quality dining. Now led by longtime team members, Rimrock continues to operate as a staple of Whistler’s dining scene, reflecting both its history and ongoing evolution.
Bar Oso’s Spanish Wine Program Earns National Recognition
Bar Oso, an intimate tapas restaurant in Whistler Village, was recognized at the 2026 Vancouver International Wine Festival awards, earning top honours for Best Spain Wine List in the Regional Wine List category.
A Toptable Group venue, Bar Oso brings a distinctly Spanish perspective to Whistler’s dining scene, pairing small plates, house-made charcuterie, and a convivial bar atmosphere —with a thoughtfully curate wine program.

Four Seasons Resort and Residences Whistler has introduced two new culinary experiences, further elevating its destination dining offering.
At SIDECUT Steakhouse, a new chef’s tasting menu highlights seasonal ingredients through a refined multi-course format, showcasing both technique and locally inspired flavours.
At Braidwood Tavern, The Memoir - a story-driven cocktail program - brings a narrative-led approach to mixology, with each drink inspired by chapters of travel, memory, and place.

Audain Art Museum Highlights Takao Tanabe in Summer Exhibitions | Beginning May 16
Following its 10th anniversary this March, the Audain Art Museum presents two summer exhibitions celebrating renowned Canadian artist Takao Tanabe, whose work has helped shape the visual language of landscape in Canadian art.
Vistas: From Takao Tanabe’s Travels (May 16 – September 21, 2026) explores how the artist’s journeys across British Columbia, the Arctic, North America, and Europe informed his contemplative landscapes, translating geography and atmosphere into quietly expressive works.
Opening June 13, Takao Tanabe: Inside Passage (June 13 – October 19, 2026) marks the artist’s 100th birthday with a retrospective of more than 60 paintings spanning seven decades, tracing the evolution of his practice across abstract and representational forms, with a focus on coastal and northern environments.
