GP Education Evening: Vascular Overview

4 May 2023 | 5.30pm to 7.00pm | Bunbury

South West General Practitioners are invited to an educational evening with Dr Carsten Ritter, Specialist Vascular Surgeon. Dr Ritter's speciality area includes varicose veins, pelvic congestion, diabetic foot and thoracic outlet. Light refreshments and canapes provided.

Respiratory overview evening wrap up

Thank you to the South West health professionals that were able to attend our Education Series: Respiratory Overview event in March at the St John of God Bunbury Hospital conference rooms with Dr Chris de Chaneet. We were overwhelmed with the response we received for this event.

The event was well attended and the presentation provided a fantastic overview from Dr de Chaneet on Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), Bronchiectasis and Interstitial Lung Disease. Visit our website for more educational and networking opportunities in the South West in 2023!

ECU South West Nursing and Midwifery Careers Event 

A big thank you to all the nursing students that visited our exhibit at the ECU South West Campus Nursing and Midwifery Career Event in March. We enjoyed talking with students and providing them with information about the South West Health Professionals Network. We wish the students well with their studies and future nursing and midwifery careers in the South West.

2023 Rural Health Excellence Awards

Congratulations to our South West winners at the recent 2023 Rural Health Excellence Awards held in Perth on Saturday 11 March 2023.

Dr Michael Dewing from Bridgetown Medical Group was named GP of the Year at the Awards. Dr Bronwyn Pierce from the Rural Clinical School of WA Bunbury shared the award for Rural Researcher and Educator with Geraldton's Dr Kathryn Fitzgerald. Bunbury's Dr Lucy Irvine won the award for WA Country Health Service Intern of the Year. Congratulations!

Alcohol & Other Drug Network Information Sessions (online)

Women's STEM JumpStart with Value Creators

3 and 4 May 2023 - Bunbury

Lets Crack the Code in 2023 in regional WA by encouraging more young women to embrace STEM with Women's STEM JumpStart in Bunbury on the 3 and 4 of May. Be quick to register!

The team at Value Creators are calling all passionate young regional women. This workshop will propel you into a new venture or enhance your career & beyond. STEM reaches across industries & many applications. So bring your smarts and an open mind to their two day Boot Camp and you will be guided through all the foundational skills and capacity building need to succeed.

You'll be matched with a supportive Mentor and join with like-minded young women. Valued at $5,000 per person but only $55 thanks to the funding from the Office for Women, Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet.

Advanced care planning, goals of care and palliative care update

3 May 2023 - Bunbury

PEPA and the South West Palliative Care Service will be facilitating a FREE evening on Advanced care planning, goals of care and palliative care update.

Come and join us for an interactive session to provide South West doctors and nurses with the latest information about advance care planning, goals of care and palliative care.

This session is particularly relevant to health professionals that work in aged care, but all health professionals interested in learning more about the topic are welcome.
