To meet the provisional targets for our region’s water quality and what communities have told us they want to see, there may be changes we have to make to improve our waterways.

Depending on where you live, the scale of those changes might be at a small, medium or large scale. 🟢 🟠 🔴

On our website, you can see what our models predict the scale of change looks like in your backyard or where you like to interact with freshwater. This map is part of the information that we’re providing people to help answer our survey about the targets and the future of freshwater in our region.

Remember – the targets (and by association the predicted scale of change required) are provisional, Horizons has yet to make any decisions about the water quality targets in this engagement.

There is still work to be done, particularly around possible social and economic impacts, that will be shared at a later date along with another opportunity to have a say.

However, you can still provide us with feedback about those areas now if you wish.
