Fleece Blanket Workshop - Sunday, May 21st from 1-3 pmFUNDRAISER TO BENEFIT OUR SENIORS FOR SENIORS PROGRAM Please join us on Sunday, May 21st from 1-3 pm for our Fleece Blanket Workshop to benefit our Seniors for Seniors Program. Phoebe is modeling the blankets that will be made. Participants will make two "cat sized" blankets (roughly 3' x 3'). The cost is $30 per person and materials will be provided. The funds raised will help us continue to pay for the medical care of senior cats adopted by senior citizens. Participants can either keep the blankets or donate one or both to the sanctuary for Phoebe and her friends. The event will be held at the Hive Market right in downtown Oyster Bay! Space is limited so please reserve your spot soon and we hope to see you there. Sponsor A Litter for Mother's Day!Kitten season is in full force early this year. As of this writing, we have three moms nursing 14 kittens between them and it has only just begun. Your donation will help us pay for deworming, diagnostic tests, food, vaccines, microchips and spaying and neutering -- everything they need to be placed into loving homes. Save the *new* date for our Senior Prom: June 24th from 12-5 p.m.This adoption event, held at our newly renovated sanctuary at 34 Hamilton Avenue in Oyster Bay, features a prom-like atmosphere, and highlights our Seniors for Seniors program (where we cover the reasonable future medical expenses for senior cats 8 years and older adopted by approved senior citizens). Senior citizens who adopt senior cats will receive a gift basket chock full of goodies (while supplies last) for their new companion and adopters of cats of all ages will receive a gift bag of new toys for their furry bundle of love. Dan and Lucy, Senior Prom 2019 Not looking to adopt? All are welcome for tours of our newly renovated sanctuary. In addition to tours, visitors may wish to sponsor a cat and help us continue to provide housing and medical care for cats in our care. Sponsors will receive a hand-painted ornament with your sponsoree's name (or your own cat's name if you prefer).
We will be serving popcorn, cotton candy and water -- come and chat with us and have a snack. Hope to see you there! Our Seniors for Seniors program has been very successful with over 30 cats placed into loving homes and senior adopters gaining the benefits of companionship with reduced financial obligations or risk. If you would like to help us help more senior cats, please consider donating today! Meet Charlie - A Kitty Who Found Himself In A Pickle!Charlie was found on the roof of a building with severe wounds to his tail and right rear limb. He was brought to Animal Care Centers where he had surgery, prior to transfer to us. We have no idea what happened to him but we do know that he is going to make whoever adopts him very happy! He is currently receiving treatment for an upper respiratory infection and recovering from surgery for his wounds. To help us cover costs for kitties like Charlie, please consider donating to our Emergency Fund. |
