Global Network of CHS Alumnae

This spring, Crofton House School, together with the Alumnae Association, travelled to connect with alumnae in Toronto, London (ON), Kingston, Montreal, and New York.

We had a great time hearing firsthand stories from our alumnae and learning about the diverse paths they have taken since graduation. They’re studying and working across a wide range of fields, including finance, science, social impact, healthcare, artificial intelligence, and law, making meaningful contributions in their communities and beyond.

It was especially inspiring to see alumnae from different graduating years come together, whether to form new connections or rekindle old friendships. Gatherings like these remind us that no matter where you are in the world, you always belong to the CHS community.

We encourage you to keep your contact information up to date with us so we can keep you posted on future events. You can do so by emailing us or through Crofton Connect, a platform that enables alumnae and students in Grades 11 and 12 to keep in touch with the School and engage in professional and social networking.

CHS Alumnae Mixer in Los Angeles

CHS alumnae spanning graduating classes from 1956 to 2023 recently gathered in Santa Monica for brunch on Sunday, April 19! All enjoyed flipping through yearbooks dating back to 1949, sparking stories that bridged generations and brought Crofton House’s history to life.

Volunteer Opportunity for Alumnae: Grade 12 Capstone Presentations

We need additional alumnae volunteers to support this year’s Capstone Presentations, taking place virtually from Tuesday, May 19, to Friday, May 22. Grade 12 students have been developing individual or small-group projects that are passion-fuelled, career-oriented, and ambitious yet achievable. These final presentations highlight their learning, experiences, and future goals. As a volunteer evaluator, you’ll join a 45-minute virtual student presentation and offer supportive, formative feedback. If you would like to participate, please sign up by Wednesday, April 29.

Step into Opportunity: Alumnae Inspire Students at the CHS Career Conference

On Tuesday, April 14, the Senior School hosted the annual CHS Career Conference. Fifteen alumnae returned to campus to share their professional journeys with current Grade 11 and 12 students. This year's theme, "Step into Opportunity: Explore, Connect, Inspire," framed a day of meaningful connections and insights.

Keynote speaker Dee Dee Sung '75 opened the conference with an insightful and inspiring address. Dee Dee reflected on the lessons and values she learned during her time as a student at CHS and explained how these continue to help her navigate her life and career. She encouraged students to use the acronym CREST–Curiosity, Respect, Energy, Service, and Trust–to remember her advice.

Dee Dee also advised students to reflect on the CHS motto, Servabo Fidem, as they face social and personal expectations. Keeping the faith in herself helped give her the courage to return to school at age 55 to earn her MBA. Today, Dee Dee serves as Executive Director of Development at the University of British Columbia, as well as a leadership coach to faculty and staff. And Dee Dee’s not done reinventing herself. She recently launched the YouTube channel Follow Your Lighthouse, dedicated to helping women navigate “the messy middle of midlife” with the goal of helping women “gain the clarity and confidence to be the architect of a next chapter.”

Following the keynote presentation, students participated in a "Living Library" activity in Manrell Hall. Students had the opportunity to rotate in small groups with alumnae and parent volunteers representing various job sectors and industries. Speakers shared their career journeys and invited students to ask questions and talk about their own career aspirations.

The day concluded with a reception where students and speakers had the chance to practice networking skills with one another. Our volunteers found the experience so meaningful that several have already offered to come back next year.

CHS Alumnae Connects with Graduating Students

Alumna Victoria Brooks ’22 came back to CHS to speak with Grade 12 students who will be attending New York University (NYU) this fall. Now in her final year at NYU, Victoria offered thoughtful insights into student life, academics, and what it is like to live in the Big Apple. Students benefited from hearing her first-hand experiences and had the opportunity to ask questions to help inform their own next steps.
