Deliver the right message

A TV ad for Dolly’s Dream featuring a teenager confronted with bullying on her phone was found to breach Section 2.6 (Health and Safety) of the Code of Ethics.

The Community Panel noted that there is a high degree of sensitivity in the community about mental health and suicide in Australia. Although the ad was calling attention to important issues, they considered that it did not feature references to any mental health support services.

The ad has now been updated to include information for a support line.
