We Care Fund for Medical Innovation and Research 2023 Faculty Seed Grants
$50,000 Matthew J. Riese, MD, PhD Promising Pilot Grant, distributed over 1 year
$100,000 Multi-PI Grant, distributed over 2 years

Any level of science is eligible for funding; preference will be given to those proposals that effectively articulate a translational theme even if the bedside application may be in the future.  Proposals may include innovative basic science or clinical research projects.  Potential for extramural funding will be a consideration for these applications as the goal of We Care is to stimulate preliminary data for a larger NIH (or equivalent) proposal.

American Heart Association (AHA) Second Century Early Faculty Independence Award
$100,000 per year for 3 years

For assistant professors in their first appointment to address technology-driven health care and diagnostics, including artificial intelligence/machine learning approaches, telemedicine, biosensors and wearables; novel and emerging therapeutics, including genome editing therapies, regenerative therapies, and bioengineered foods; environmental impacts on health, including direct and indirect effects; or research and solutions for issues affecting aging populations and the shrinking healthcare workforce.

Elsa U. Pardee Foundation Grant
No limit on funding, up to 1 year
Proposal due in eBridge: April 21, 2023
Application due: April 30, 2023

The Foundation funds projects which will allow establishment of capabilities of new cancer researchers, or new cancer approaches by established cancer researchers. It is anticipated that this early stage funding by the Foundation may lead to subsequent and expanded support using government agency funding. Project relevance to cancer detection, treatment, or cure should be clearly identified.

CTSI Clinical Research Scholars Program

Enable junior faculty to successfully compete for clinical research funding. Must commit minimum of 20% protected time (40% recommended) for research activities.
