Fathers play a crucial role in the emotional, social, and intellectual development of their children, contributing to their overall well-being and success. ![]() Putative Father Registries Putative fathers' registries promote the best interests of children first, while seeking to balance the interests of adults involved in planning an adoption. Registries seek to ensure that a legal mechanism is in place for fathers to exercise their paternal rights. Almost all States have them now. We at Unplanned Good have gathered a small coalition of national adoption leaders from across the country. Each person on this team is a passionate, pro-adoption powerhouse, leading their own national adoption-related organization. The idea is to divert Federal funds to fuel state-level programs with these goals: Early last month I was in DC for a few days and have now briefed all of the Idaho delegation on our Third Option initiative. The delegation includes Senator Mike Crapo, Senator Jim Risch, Congressman Russ Fulcher and Congressman Mike Simpson. All are in support of what we're doing and want to help. Again, Idaho is leading as the first "Third Option" State, and we believe other States will follow. We are excited to see how it will all come together.
