Dear Alumnae, Celebrations for the School’s 125th birthday have begun! The month of February included the launch of the new strategic plan, Thriving in Possibility, and a special event held in Manrell Hall for current and former teachers and staff to mark their contribution to Crofton House School’s progression and history. The School is now preparing to welcome alumnae back to campus for the annual School Birthday on Friday, March 3.
We invite you to share your CHS story. It could be a joyful and special memory, a message of appreciation for a teacher, or a tribute to a lifelong friendship that started at Crofton House. We will be collecting stories throughout the year, some of which will be shared with the community. Key Dates:February to December - Alumnae Open Houses One Saturday a month is reserved for an alumnae open house tour of the campus. Visit the website to see the dates or sign up. March 3, 2023 - Crofton House School Birthday Our annual birthday celebration will take on a new format and is sure to be extra special this year. May 12, 2023 - Alumnae Field Hockey Game and Barbecue We hope to see you for the 2nd Annual Alumnae Field Hockey event & barbecue. May 26, 2023 - 25th CHS Annual Golf Classic Tournament November 24, 2023 - Crofton House School 125 Year Celebration A night out to celebrate Crofton House School and its community at the Parq Hotel.
We are excited to welcome our alumnae back on campus for a full day of activities. This year’s school birthday will offer alumnae opportunities to experience the School and connect with students. If you have not had a chance to do so, please RSVP online or email alumnae@croftonhouse.ca.
We are working with the classes of ’63, ’68, ’71, ’73, ’78, ’83, ’96, ’00, ’02 and ’13 on their reunions. Reunions that were cancelled due to the pandemic are invited to start planning their event with the support of the school as well. Alumnae Career Exchange First Meeting - That's a wrap! The first Alumnae Career Exchange (ACE), hosted by the CHS Alumnae Association, was held at the Vancouver Lawn and Tennis Club on February 1, 2023.
A wonderful success, the inaugural ACE meeting was filled to capacity with over 85 alumnae from graduation years 1977 to 2021 in attendance. Alumnae from 14 industries and varied professions were represented and they shared their insightful tips and advice throughout the evening. Stay tuned, more opportunities for career connections and knowledge exchange will be shared soon. News from New Zealand Dr. Kayla Kingdon-Bebb (née Bebb), class of 2003, was recently appointed the role of Chief Executive Officer for WWF-New Zealand (WWF is known internationally as the Worldwide Fund for Nature and in North America as the World Wildlife Fund). Four Seasons Book Club - First Meeting on March 28, 2023 Alumna Trish Dundas ’83 has been excited to start a book club with her fellow CHS alumnae. The first meeting will take place on March 28, 6:30 pm, at Crofton House School. We hope you will have enough time to read Magpie Murders by Anthony Horowitz.
