Yarra Bend Park upgrades - community update

September 2025

Parks Victoria is working to upgrade multiple sites within Yarra Bend Park to improve the visitor and sporting club facilities. A number of upgrades have already been completed including new netball courts at Fairlea Reserve, and new and improved pathways, picnic tables, barbecues and visitor shelters at Studley Park and the Loop Picnic Area.

Work set to commence on Deep Rock Pavilion upgrade

Construction work on Deep Rock Pavilion will begin in mid-September and is expected to be completed in early 2026. These renovations will allow local sporting clubs to use more modern and inclusive sporting facilities. The existing public toilets will also be upgraded during this time. Replacement portable toilets will be made available for public use while the renovation work takes place.

Dickinson Reserve playground nearly finished

Strong community support for the replacement of the Dickinson Reserve playground has led to a new, safe and locally manufactured playground currently being installed. Earlier this year the community voted for their favourite playground design. The playground is based on the design with the most votes, with updates including more natural colours, reflecting community feedback. Works on the playground will be completed before the end of the month.

Works continue on Corben Oval upgrades

Internal and external works have been completed on the Corben Oval Pavilion. We are currently waiting on custom-made replacement sewerage pumps to be manufactured. Once these have been installed we can re-open both the pavilion and public toilet blocks at Corben Oval. This is on track to be completed by late 2025.
