SO Team BC 2024 got on the board in a big way during the first full day of competition! So proud of everyone who competed with pride on Wednesday. 🏅 See #SOTeamBC2024's rising medal count Day 2 HighlightsHazen Maede (picture above, right), snowshoeing athlete from SOBC – Campbell River, made a comeback for the ages! In the 800m race, Hazen found himself at the back of the group. With great confidence and an indomitable spirit, he mounted a roaring comeback during the race's final stretch to capture a bronze medal! 🥉 This was an especially memorable and inspiring moment to mark Hazen's 25th year of competing with Special Olympics BC. His father, sister, and niece were in the crowd cheering him on! SO Team BC members also made time between competitions to show their support for Pink Shirt Day. Respect, kindness, and inclusion are so important to the Special Olympics movement, and we stand with everyone advocating an end to bullying! 💗 #SOTeamBC2024 Athlete Spotlight
