Welcome to the September 2023 Newsletter

Not long to go until our Annual Conference and Dinner!

Five things we are looking forward to at the IED Conference

  1. The launch of the IED Manifesto to make economic development a statutory function.
  2. Innovative policy debate – Keynote Robin McAlpine and talks from The Centre for Progressive Policy; Localis; along with an update on Community Wealth Building to name a few.
  3. Getting an update from key Government Agencies including Innovate UK and Homes England.
  4. Considering how devolution can deliver for our regions and cities.
  5. Discussion with those people that we only meet once or twice a year.

We're also excited to see our colleagues get recognised for the important contributions they are making in our communities at our 2023 Annual Awards, sponsored by Key Cities. We've had some great entries so far, but there's still time to get your entry in - all the information is here with categories including Leader of the Year and Outstanding Impact. Please note that award entries are welcomed from both IED members and non members and are free and easy to enter.

Don’t miss out – it’s all happening in Birmingham on 7th November. Click on the red button below to book now.

We thank our sponsors Pegasus Group, Key Cities, YTKO LTD, Atkins and the Social Value Engine as well as our media partner LGC.
