This architecturally distinctive building, nestled between the Coventry and Cedar Fairmount districts, is officially ours—and will serve as ARTFUL’s permanent home for years to come. Over the next several weeks, we’ll begin moving in and thoughtfully transforming the space into a welcoming, dynamic center for artists to work, connect, and thrive. After being displaced from the Coventry P.E.A.C.E. Building, we were determined not to lose the creative energy, community, and momentum we’ve built together. Thanks to generous donor support, a creative deal structure, and the backing of the City of Cleveland Heights and the Episcopal Diocese, this dream is now a reality. This isn’t just a win for ARTFUL—it’s a win for the entire region. The former St. Alban’s site will strengthen Cleveland Heights’ reputation as a “Home to the Arts” and serve as a stabilizing force for the regional arts scene—offering space, opportunity, and inspiration at a time when many artists and arts organizations are facing cuts to funding and growing uncertainty. Our new home will feature:
In the coming months, we will assess the building’s needs, develop a vision plan, and prepare to launch a capital campaign to ensure long-term stability and address the space’s physical requirements. This achievement would not have been possible without the outpouring of love and support we received from our community, and the loyalty and dedication of so many ARTFUL artists who stood with us through uncertainty. Our board members were a constant source of knowledge and strength, and our leadership team—Shannon Morris (Executive Director), Brady Dindia (Board President), and Lee Chilcote (Attorney and Advisor)—remained steadfast and worked diligently to bring this deal to fruition. Together, we persevered. Over the past several months, each of the former Coventry P.E.A.C.E. Campus organizations has begun to find its new footing. Like ARTFUL, our friends and collaborators have faced the challenges of relocation with creativity and determination. While we may now be housed in different places, the connections we built together remain strong—and our commitment to collaboration is as alive as ever. That’s why we’re so excited to share that P.E.A.C.E. Pops is making a comeback this summer, and ARTFUL is proud to be a part of it. We’re partnering with Coventry P.E.A.C.E., Lake Erie Ink, FutureHeights, and others to bring this joyful celebration back to the community. Save the Date: Friday, July 18 from 5 to 8 PM at the Cleveland Heights Recreation Center. We can’t wait to gather with all of you again. Full event details are coming soon! In the meantime, we’ll continue to keep you updated on our progress and share announcements about when new studios become available. Once we’re settled, we also plan to offer individual tours by appointment for those who want a closer look at what’s ahead. Thank you for standing with us. We can’t wait to open our doors and build something beautiful—together. With gratitude and excitement, To support ARTFUL’s mission to create an inclusive, sustainable home for the arts, contact Executive Director Shannon Morris at donations@artfulcleveland.org or visit artfulcleveland.org/donations.
