Creative Heights: Oregon Artists Dream Big and Communities Benefit

Since 2014, Creative Heights grants from Oregon Community Foundation have supercharged the careers of more than 150 Oregon artists. Yet the impacts stretch far beyond the artists themselves. Their works have created a living canon of ambitious art and culture projects for communities across the state and “changed the fabric of Oregon.” Find out how.

While you’re at it, check out last week's announcement of four new Fields Artist Fellows receiving $150,000 over two years.

Update: Hunger Relief Surge Tops $4 Million

Hands sort bunches of leafy greens at a food pantry feeding people.

When federal food benefits were disrupted last fall, thousands of Oregonians turned to local food banks and pantries to keep food on the table. New numbers show that Oregon Community Foundation and its donors stepped up with more than $4 million in donations and grants for organizations that provide food and nutrition services statewide. This total reflects just the last three months of 2025. OCF was one of many funding partners that worked together to respond to the immediate needs and long-term efforts to fight hunger in Oregon.

Why QCDs are a Smart Way to Support Collective Giving

Looking for a savvy way to make a lasting impact? If you’re 70½ or older, a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) lets you give directly from your IRA — reducing taxable income while supporting the causes you care about. When you direct your QCD to a Collective Giving Fund at Oregon Community Foundation, you provide flexible resources to meet the most pressing needs in our state, now and in the future. Discover how this strategy can amplify your philanthropy and strengthen our communities.
