Te Nukutai o Tapoa - Naval Point is looking shipshapeA site blessing took place last weekend and the carpark area at Naval Point is now officially ready for the upcoming ITM New Zealand Sail Grand Prix (SailGP) event. With only three weeks until racing, work continues at pace on the Godley Quay upgrade, which includes resurfacing, better lighting and utilities, and construction of a shared pedestrian and bicycle path. Night works will be taking place for five nights starting 26 February to install the final layer of asphalt. The roadway from Te Ana Marina to the Lyttelton recreation grounds is currently being completed. Work on the Charlotte Jane intersection and footpath is also underway. The majority of this work is expected to wrap up around 28 February, with finishing touches taking place ahead of the SailGP team officially taking over the site from 6 March.
