To be deep in the wilderness, separated from it only at night and by canvas, is to experience it truly. Every sound permeates, every movement reverberates, and one’s imagination runs free, as only it can in nature. Our tented camps in the Serengeti offer a profound sense of adventure, and the opportunity to experience one of Africa’s most vibrant ecosystems at eye level.

SABORA
Hidden within the Grumeti Reserve, close to the ground and camouflaged by its surroundings, Sabora offers a more pared-back experience of the wild. Imbued with simplicity, yet accentuated by artefacts of contemporary African culture, creativity, and craft, it mirrors the region’s wide plains dotted with game and other glorious sights to behold. A constant chorus of wind and wildlife accompany the stillness and holds you in each moment – and each moment here is something to
cherish.

MARA RIVER
Located on a riverbend in the Lamai triangle, deep in the north of the Serengeti, this intimate, off-the-grid camp offers a glimpse into the ever-changing nature of the wild. The gentle sound of flowing water contrasts the mighty thunder of thousands of hooves in Migration season, and it’s set up frames the movement of light and life throughout the day. At Mara River, nature’s cycles dance around you, and the region’s rich Maasai heritage – brought to life through design –
grounds you
wholly in where you are.

What else they offer
Camps offer a range of activities tailored to suit the interests of each group or family. Game drives take place daily, and guided bush walks are available when conditions are suitable. Being in the wild naturally lends itself to birdwatching, stargazing, and unhurried conversations around the fire.
Each camp has a swimming pool and offers yoga, fitness equipment, and wellness treatments. Hot air balloon rides are available, and visits to nearby communities and the Grumeti Fund’s Anti-Poaching team for a demonstration can be arranged for guests at Sabora and Explore. Please bear in mind that, in the interest
of safety, some activities are restricted for children above a certain age – at the discretion of a guide.

NATURE NOW
Spring in the Serengeti heralds the rains. Wherever they fall, grasses surge, watering holes swell, and life follows in abundance. This time of year is exceptional for game viewing, drawing out even the most elusive species. Several cheetahs have been spotted across the Grumeti Reserve and Lamai triangle, including a mother and her cub and a young male. These coveted cats are rare to see in the wild, and sightings are a testament to the success of our collective care for it.
