Jacob Jensen Design are proud to announce the continuing collaboration with Toshiba, with the launch of the new generation of WL and YL series of televisions at the IFA Exhibition in Berlin.

The JACOB JENSEN™ Smoke Alarm was honoured 1st place by the Danish Consumer Council, beating leading specialist brands in fire safety. Furthermore, JACOB JENSEN™ announces the launch of the 0.6L kettle targeted specifically for small apartments and the hospitality market.

In other news, CEO and Chief Designer, Timothy Jacob Jensen and his daughter, Toko Marie Øgendahl Jensen were invited to the Centennial Ball in New York to mark the 100th Anniversary of the American-Scandinavian Foundation.

Christiania Share to Share Christiania

The freetown, Christiania has issued the Christiania shares with the goal of raising 76 mil. DKK (roughly 10 mil. Euro) to support the buyout through the Fund for the Freetown of Christiania.

Christiania shares are not like ordinary shares traded at the stock exchange. They are simply donations supporting the buyout of the Freetown and as such worth more than money. The share is designed by Jakob Blue in cooperation with Christiania and Jacob Jensen Design.

Toshiba launches new series of televisions

Toshiba launches the WL and YL series of televisions, designed in collaboration with Jacob Jensen Design

The cooperation with Toshiba and Jacob Jensen Design continues, with the launch of the WL and YL television series at the IFA Exhibition in Berlin.

Following the same design principle as the acclaimed iF Product Design Award winning REGZA WL768, the new generation REGZA WL and YL televisions feature a brushed silver chassis and, a super slim profile with stylish sandblasted aluminium and polished black exteriors.

Other new features include Toshiba’s high-performance CEVO- ENGINE Processor with Multi-Core Power giving a greater image detail than ever before. together with Auto Calibration and USB HDD Recording functionality.

Timothy Jacob Jensen attends the ASF Centennial Ball in New York

On the 21st of October 2011, Timothy Jacob Jensen and his daughter Toko Marie Øgendahl Jensen were invited to the ASF Centennial Ball in New York. The celebration marked the 100th anniversary of the American-Scandinavian Foundation and supports the foundation’s ongoing efforts in Nordic-American relations.

The event was also attended by Their Majesties the King and Queen of Sweden, the King and Queen of Norway, their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary of Denmark along with the President of Iceland, and the President of Finland.

Timothy Jacob Jensen held a lecture on Scandinavian Values as part of the London Design Festival 2011

On the 22nd of September 2011, Timothy Jacob Jensen held a lecture on ‘Scandinavian values in a global design economy’ as part of the London Design Festival 2011.

Established in 2003, The London Design Festival is one of the world’s most important annual design events. The nine- day festival programme is made up of over 300 events and exhibitions staged by 200 partner organisations across the design spectrum and from around the world.

The event was hosted at the Danish Embassy in London and attracted various international journalists, British designers and Danish design enthusiasts.

Release of JACOB JENSEN 0.6L Kettle

In family with the 1.2L Kettle, the JACOB JENSEN™ 0.6L Kettle caters for small apartments and the hospitality market.

The combination of sandblasted aluminium and black exteriors create a sophisticated and beautiful piece of décor for the kitchen in a classic, simple and timeless design.

The 0.6L Kettle has features such as, an optional wall mount, ergonomic handle, one-touch opening, water level indicator, safety lid with automatic switch off, removable limescale filter and market specific plugs.

JACOB JENSEN™ Ionising smoke alarm is honoured 1st place in a recent test by the Danish Consumer Council

The Danish Consumer Council is an independent membership organisation which works for the promotion of sustainable and socially responsible consumption and efficient markets. Their purpose is to defend consumer rights and make consumers a power in the market.

During the month of November, the council tested 24 different smoke alarms for their user friendliness and more importantly how quickly they responded to smoke from various directions.

The JACOB JENSEN™ Ionising Smoke Alarm proved to be the best and thereby honoured 1st place above other leading brands in fire safety.

Diamant Coffins exhibit at the Funéraire Paris in France

Tommerup Kister exhibited the Diamant Series - Design by Jacob Jensen at Funéraire Paris in France

On the 17th of November 2011, the 100 year old Danish company Tommerup Kister exhibited the Diamant Series - Design by Jacob Jensen at the International Funeral Service Fair, ‘Funéraire Paris’ in France.

Funéraire Paris is the only trade show in the world that exhibits a complete overview of the entire funeral trade, where all sectors are represented.

Tommerup Kister presented the whole collection of Diamant coffins and urns in white and black, together with a special edition Diamant 32 in high gloss red. All product were displayed within Tommerup Kister’s newly designed booth.

“The Diamant Series really made a large impression at this years Funéraire. The Diamant 32 in red was probably the most photographed item at the whole fair... it was like a magnet” says Nigel Hopwood, Art Director of Jacob Jensen Design.

Jacob Jensen Design ApS and Jacob Jensen Brand ApS receives the triple A rating by Soliditet A/S.

In order to achieve the triple A rating, a company must demonstrate a high ability to meet current payment obligations. Credit rating is based on information from, among others, the Danish Commerce and Companies Agency and the CVR register.

Both companies under Jacob Jensen Group; Jacob Jensen Design ApS and Jacob Jensen Brand ApS received the triple A rating.
