Update from the Director of College Services

How is it May already?! With College Retreats held across multiple campus locations and activities well underway to support our 2025 strategic plan, the year is already getting away from us.

Our professional staff teams continue to work together to clarify and promote the services they provide to support staff within our College. Work is underway to strengthen the information available on our CMPH staff website about professional services within the matrix model and support a clearer orientation process for staff commencing within CMPH.  Further information will be provided over the coming weeks. While the dedicated support provided by our professional services teams has not changed, there have been some recent changes to the staff who provide this support.

  • Kahlene Michalanney has been seconded to work on some important projects in the WIL space, and Anthony De Conno has stepped in to capably support our CMPH WIL team during this time. Anthony is an experienced WIL Manager at Flinders, supporting the teams in CNHS and CEPSW.
  • Emma Widdison-Duke, who has capably led our College SAS team for several years, has been seconded to the role of Rural Education Team Manager and will bring some fantastic insight and experience to this role. We are very pleased to have Will Aiken as the interim College SAS Manager while recruitment is underway to backfill Emma’s twelve-month secondment.

We have an exciting secondment opportunity available for a HEO7 Project Officer, Curriculum Mapping. The six-month opportunity is available for any staff member with aligned experience or transferrable skills, and additional detail is included in the 'Expressions of Interest' section below. To learn more, contact Karen Lower.

Staff connect and collaborate at the Rural and Remote Health Retreat

Rural and Remote Health (RRH) staff from across the NT came together in Darwin for a two-day retreat, building stronger connections across locations and disciplines. Holding the retreat in the NT reflects Flinders’ commitment to place-based approaches, rural and remote advancement, and recognising the impact of RRH’s high-achieving team. “There is such a wonderful sense of camaraderie among RRH staff when we have a chance to meet face-to-face. So many diverse perspectives and views, that all contribute to a joint team focus” -  James Smith
