Dear , The Office of Graduate Research welcomes you to a new academic year, and to our first newsletter for 2022. The staff in the Office of Graduate Research are now back, but working from home until the end of January. You can reach the teams via email or schedule online appointments through Microsoft Teams. Our Dean is on campus throughout this period, and available for appointments, phone calls and walk-ins if you need. Anne Mette Adams, PhD student within the College of Nursing and Health Sciences, is working with her Flinders and Aalborg University supervisors to explore agitated patient behaviours in the intensive care unit. Her aim is to develop person-centred practice guidelines on non-pharmacological approaches to prevent, minimise and manage agitated behaviours. Read more >
The Best HDR Student Publication Awards for 2021 have now been finalised. These awards recognise the best of our HDR students and their transformative scholarship, and provide a prize of $1000 for one HDR students per college. A total of seven awards were given out in 2021 - check out the winners and their publications. Read more >
Yumi Naito, Masters of Science student with the College of Nursing and Health Sciences shares her research and passion for exploring end of life decision making in Japan through an ethnographic study. Yumi's research investigates what really matters for the patients and how health professionals support patient centred care. Read more >
HDR Student Annual Satisfaction Survey
The HDR Student Annual Satisfaction survey is now open. The survey is an opportunity for you to express your level of satisfaction with the research environment and identify any needs or concerns that you may have. The feedback collected from this survey will directly influence the OGR services offered in 2022, so please take the time to tell us how we can best support you in the future, and be in the running for a $200 credit card voucher. Update to the HDR Online Induction
Welcome to all our new HDR students starting in 2022! Our HDR Online Induction is being updated to include some exciting new material, and is currently unavailable. The fresh new induction will be released by the end of January, and all new students will be provided with details on how to complete it. For any questions or concerns, please get in touch with the HDR Development team.
Coming soon: Epigeum - New online research skills training
We are excited to announce that Flinders has purchased a suite on online training materials through Epigeum for our researchers and HDR students. The suite includes comprehensive modules on research integrity, research methods, transferrable skills and supervising doctoral studies, developed by leading academics and experts across the globe. You will be receiving more information on the training materials and how to access them from the HDR
