On behalf of Dallas Baptist University, I would like to express our heartfelt gratitude for your unwavering support. Your commitment to praying for DBU, generous giving, and serving in various capacities has been a true blessing to our university and its mission. Your prayers have been a source of strength and encouragement for our students, faculty and staff. I am so grateful for your steadfast intercession on our behalf, lifting DBU up in prayer, during both challenging times and moments of celebration. Your financial support has also been instrumental in furthering the mission of DBU. We are constantly striving to provide the best possible educational experience for our students, and your support makes this possible. Due to your generous gifts, we are able to fund scholarships and assist students as they seek to become Christian servant leaders, scholars and global thinkers that Christ is calling them to be. Additionally, I am appreciative of the time and efforts that you have dedicated to serving DBU through the Women's Auxiliary Board. Being a part of luncheon committees, serving our students at FLOW, and supporting various DBU programs has made a significant impact in the lives of our students. Your dedication to building a great Christian university that is pleasing to God is evident through your prayers, service, and generous giving. I am so grateful to have you as a partner in ministry as we continue to educate and empower the next generation of leaders for the Kingdom. Keep scrolling and mark your calendars! This year we want each of you to consider how you can pray, serve, and give supporting DBU through the Women's Auxiliary Board. Here are some practical ways to become involved this spring: DBU All-University Prayer Requests From Jason Williams, Director of Admissions: "Pray for students who have made, or are making, decisions of where to attend college. Help them to see the distinctive difference at DBU and to have a desire to be in that environment. Pray that our communication attempts will be successful in reaching prospective students and that the Lord will use those connections to draw students to DBU. Finally, help us to know exactly how we can serve each student we encounter." DBU Students - This month, students are working on major assignments like book reviews, exams, projects, presentations, and research papers. Pray that they can find the help they need for academic success. Pray that God will give them the ability to be organized, eat well, and get enough sleep. Campbell Fearing Update - Campbell Fearing is a Junior at DBU who was diagnosed with leukemia last November. Campbell Fearing had a bone marrow transplant on Monday, April 3. Campbell reports that it went well, and he believes God acted on everyone’s prayers. Please continue to pray for Campbell's health, his family and wisdom for Campbell's doctors in the days ahead. DBU Women's Auxiliary Board Member Prayer Requests For the 2022-2023 year, the DBU Women's Auxiliary Board Staff, Chaplain Patty Lovvorn, and our Executive Committee are committing to pray for the needs of our members and their loved ones. Please let us know how we can pray for you by following this link: Prayer Request Form FLOW (Free Lunch on Wednesdays) - Mark your calendars! On Wednesday, April 12, 2023, from 12:00-1:00 PM, the Women's Auxiliary Board is privileged to serve lunch to DBU students in partnership with the Baptist Student Ministry. Please email leslie@dbu.edu, if you would like to give funds to cover the food for their lunch (approximately $1,500) or join us as we spend time with and serve our DBU students! Scholarships are always a great way to support DBU. Students are transformed personally by receiving a Christ-centered higher education at DBU but need help financially. To contribute, go to www.dbu.edu/give. Choose "Student Scholarships." You may also send a check in the mail to Dallas Baptist University, 3000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Texas 75211. Spring 2023 Scholarship Recipients - Due to your generosity, the Women's Auxiliary Board was able to give four, $3,000 scholarships to students in need for the Spring 2023 semester. Receiving these scholarships has allowed the recipients to continue to pursue their education without worrying about finances. Over the next few months, we will be highlighting each of the four recipients of the Women's Auxiliary Board Scholarships. Read below about Elise Larson, a DBU freshman from Midlothian, Texas! Elise Larson - My name is Elise Larson and I'm from Midlothian, Texas. I'm the only Piano Performance major at DBU! It's so much fun, and I have loved every second. After I graduate, I want to teach piano lessons, play for church, and write music for beginner pianists. I am grateful to be able to pursue what I love at DBU. Because of this scholarship I am able to focus on studying without the financial burden. Thank you to the Women's Auxiliary Board for this gift. Upcoming Home Baseball Games of Interest
